I have always wondered about those blue exhaust pipes that some AMCs came with. For a while I never thought I'd see one, and one day at a show there was one on the ground by a vendor's table. It was quite a sight! Last week I found myself surrounded by blue porcelain exhaust pipes.
But I still don't know the history of them. Were these also used on Ramblers? Maybe ONLY Ramblers? Why did they think porcelain covered pipes would be a good idea? How long did they last? When did they stop making them?
